LCD COMPUTER MONITORS

An LCD monitor uses LCD technologies rather than the conventional cathode ray tube (CRT) technologies. The LCD computer monitor was used used by most notebooks until recently, Called an LCD panel, they were used exclusively on notebook computers and other portable devices until 1997, when several manufacturers began offering full-size LCD monitors as alternatives to CRT monitors. The main advantage of LCD displays is that they take up less desk space and are lighter.

When first offered, the LCD monitor was expensive and out of reach for most computer users. In recent years, the prices have been drastically reduced and affordable to all. Because of their light weight and increased durability, they are the preferred monitor today and are virtually a standard inclusion in all bundled desktop computer purchases.
